Guy Wonder is a man under the influence of life. Very aware of the shape, form and the color of each day and what it has to offerand this has ultimately shaped and colored his work.A 3rd generation Deaf man, Raised in a deaf family and attended a residential school for the deaf in Vancouver, Washington. As an adult he studied at the Nation Technical Institute for the Deaf. Over the yearshe also has been associated with Gallaudet University (the nations for most Deaf University), commissioning him to create sculpture for Deaf Way at campus. Guy also has designed sets for the Sign Rise Theaterand is a board member of DEAF Media and DCARA. He was the Artistic Director for Visual Arts of "Celebration:Deaf Artist and performersin '91 and '94 So yes, deafness and Deaf Culture have influenced him and his creativity, to the greater benefit of the community at large. | |||||

Guy has leactured and toured
at the Museum of Modern Art and the Metoplitation in N.Y.C. and taught
children andadult at the Oakland Museum Project. He has built rustic furniture,
and designed majorwindow displays and home furnishing for Bloomingdale,
renovated in the bay area and designed beautiful gardens, Guy has keen
eye forall different aspects of life and humanity. Since his return to
the WestCoast he has given workshops for Deaf people with HIV and AIDS,
MR>Wonder was a member of the original May 1989 DeVia group.The color
and textures of the world are not only in Guy's work, butalso in his heart
and mind.
